Job summary

Hudl is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers focused on our Fan and Club products. You will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive scalable cloud solutions with an AI-forward mindset.

You will partner with Product Management and Design to ship the next generation Fan experience, support cross‑functional teams from coast to coast, and promote inclusive, high‑performing engineering practices across remote and in-office staff.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers focused on our Fan and Club products. As an Engineering Manager at Hudl, you will:

Your strategic insights will help set the direction for multiple teams and ensure we stay ahead in the market.

Manage and Develop Engineers: Foster a high performance, team-oriented culture by leading and mentoring engineers ranging from senior to new-to-career. You’ll be responsible for developing leadership capabilities, promoting best practices, and ensuring high performance across your teams.

Serve as a technical leader, guiding your teams in the development of robust, scalable solutions on the cloud. Your deep technical knowledge will be crucial in solving complex challenges and driving engineering excellence.

Champion Agentic/AI Engineering Practices: Drive acceleration of our software development lifecycle via impactful adoption of AI development tooling and patterns. We're investing heavily in the best tools available to dramatically increase how quickly we're able to get our products in the hands of customers.

While local candidates in Lincoln, Nebraska are prioritized, we’re open to remote applicants who reside in one of the following states: Have extensive experience in cloud technology and building highly scalable software solutions. You should have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based systems that can scale efficiently and handle millions of livestreams and ticket sales.

Demonstrate a track record of driving technical strategy and leading engineering efforts. You will have experience in setting technical direction for product areas like our Fan and Club groups and guiding your teams towards successful project outcomes, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

You must have a background in leading engineering teams, with skills in career coaching and performance management.

Demonstrate an AI-forward mindset and strong bias for agentic engineering techniques. Hudl has been aggressively adopting AI coding tools and expects our engineering leaders to drive impactful and efficient adoption across their team.

Your ability to articulate ideas clearly and work effectively with various stakeholders will be crucial - you will partner with Product Management and Design to ship the future of our Fan experience and Club tooling.

Experience in product partnership. You will champion diversity and inclusion within your teams, creating a workplace where all team members feel valued and empowered to contribute.

Video processing and storage experience. If you’ve used tools like ffmpeg, or video livestreaming protocols like HLS, RTMP, SRT or similar, that’s a plus.

Transaction processing and financial systems experience. We use Stripe to process transactions, Stripe Connect to power user payout and operate a financial ledger to track transactions. Experience working with end-user financial systems is a plus.

Professional background in TypeScript, React, GraphQL, C#, MongoDB, and AWS. Adjacent languages, frameworks and services used at scale are also relevant experiences.

Hudl is heavily invested in React Native to bring our Fan experience to iOS, Android, and a variety of CTV platforms with a single codebase, so experience with React Native or mobile development (native iOS or Android) would be an asset in this role.

Our engineering team is spread across the U.S. with people working both in office and remotely. If you’ve worked with hybrid or remote teams before, that would help you adapt more quickly to Hudl’s working environment.
