Engineering Project Manager - Cross Product

US Remote

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Software Project Manager is responsible for leading complex software projects in support of launching new products and improving existing ones. They achieve this through the application of agile project management tools to drive high-level collaboration and coordination with various functions within engineering, track progress, and provide detailed status reports to management. Software Project Managers should be adept at influencing outcomes, negotiating with stakeholders, and providing both leadership and support to their teams. Their function is essential to ensuring teams achieve the objectives and goals required to complete projects on time and budget. This is a role that requires a motivational project manager with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide cross-functional project leadership of software development initiatives as part of a broader program.
2. Drive collaboration and coordination between multiple engineering teams to facilitate the project planning process and creation of comprehensive timelines and milestones considering available resources, dependencies, priorities, risks and other constraints.
3. Take ownership of delivering projects on time and within budget.
4. Generate the necessary documentation and assist teams with creating project plans, protocols, reports, etc.
5. Track project progress, risks, and provide detailed status reports.
6. Interface with external partners to facilitate joint development efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 5+ years of project management experience in software development, preferably in the Life Sciences or Biotech space.
2. Experience planning and leading enterprise software projects, developing timelines, documentation and reporting.
3. Strong understanding of software architecture principles and SDLC.
4. Experience with using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, Jama) as well as Smartsheet.
5. Experience working in a regulated environment is a nice-to-have.
6. Certification or formal training in Project Management such as a PMP or CSM is a nice-to-have.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with the project teams and top-level management.
2. A strong understanding of software best practices and systems architecture.
3. Experience with proactive / creative problem solving, and negotiation skills.
4. Excellent organization, prioritization and time management / multi-tasking skills (comfortable in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment).
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
