Job summary

ITT Corporation is seeking a Project Manager III to plan, coordinate, and oversee engineering projects from inception to completion. You will manage cross-functional teams, communicate with stakeholders, and ensure projects meet deadlines and budget with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include risk mitigation, detailed scheduling, and close collaboration with Sales, Procurement, Production Planning, and Lab Management to hit milestones. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in project management of engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of PM tools (MS Project, Sensei, Jira, Monday).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and identify risks.
  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Project Manager III is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing engineering projects from inception through completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. This position involves coordinating project team efforts, managing communication with stakeholders, and ensuring successful project execution with minimal supervision.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sponsors, stakeholders, subject matter experts, functional area resources, and others to develop project scope, schedule, and budget information.
  • Plan, execute, organize, and monitor all aspects of multiple projects in parallel.
  • Create and maintain detailed implementation schedules with key milestone plans for assigned projects.
  • Identify project risks and issues and lead project team to develop risk mitigation plans to ensure prompt resolution to keep projects on track.
  • Collect project task information and run project meetings as needed.
  • Foster accountability with engineers and other team members to ensure successful and on-time project deliveries.
  • Learn the technology being developed on projects you manage.
  • Communicates project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in departmental project status update meetings.
  • Proactively escalates projects that are in jeopardy of missing deadlines to Engineering Management and Product Management Leadership to ensure sufficient time is allowed for additional allocation of resources and risk mitigation.
  • Work closely with cross functional departments, including Sales, Procurement, Production Planning, and Lab Manager to identify project tasks and ensure milestones are completed on time.
  • Prepare capital appropriations requisitions (PAR) and purchase requisitions for each project when needed.
  • Build and maintain a trusted, cooperative relationship with project team members and create an atmosphere of shared ownership of the success of the project: embrace the servant leader mindset and be a team player. Utilize emotional intelligence skill set to influence project team to meet project deadlines.
  • Enter pertinent project data, budgets, and schedules into Microsoft Sensei Projects database and maintain through project completion.
  • Aggressively monitor critical path activities. Follow up with team members to ensure project stays on track. Work to resolve timing constraints if critical tasks are delayed.
  • Provide clear, timely and accurate project status reports for management.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years minimum experience in project management of Engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Microsoft Sensei, Jira, Monday.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify project risk, scope creep, and missing critical requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute projects to successful completion in engineering environment.
  • Capacity to work in a high paced, changing environment, and interface effectively with other departments and executive management.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to create, organize, and manage detailed project documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders, project teams, cross functional teams, and managers.
  • Ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
  • Skilled in facilitating meetings and driving consensus among stakeholders.
  • Ability to address and resolve issues during the planning phase to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Must possess strong leadership and emotional intelligence skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Highly self-motivated and a willingness to be effective and learn.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to travel periodically (up to 10%).

  • PMP Certification

Equal Pay Act Range

Annual salary is from $112,700.00 to $168,500.00, plus benefits & incentive plan.
