Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to support GMP manufacturing readiness, equipment transitions, and project execution. You will collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and suppliers to drive timelines and ensure GMP compliance.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business and Science or related field required.
  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing production or related occupation.
  • Experience in GMP-regulated environments preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineering, maintenance and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of commissioning, startup and qualification activities in manufacturing.

Engineering Project Manager
Duties
  • Applies working knowledge of process equipment, material flow, and utilities commonly used in GMP manufacturing to support equipment readiness, operational transitions, and project execution.
  • Coordinates execution activities using production schedules, project timelines, and work plans to support timely delivery of manufacturing and project milestones while maintaining full GMP compliance.
  • Responsible for supporting manufacturing equipment readiness for use in regulated GMP environments by working in compliance with documented procedures, data integrity expectations, and applicable quality system requirements across regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Collaborates with engineering, maintenance, and external suppliers to prepare manufacturing and processing equipment for GMP operation and confirm readiness prior to startup.
  • Supports equipment installation, startup, and modification activities under GMP controls, ensuring work is executed in alignment with validated processes, hygiene standards, and contamination prevention requirements.
  • Participate in commissioning, startup, and qualification activities for manufacturing equipment and utilities to verify equipment suitability for regulated production.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business and Science, Business Administration or a related field & 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Manufacturing Production - related occupation.
  • GMP-regulated manufacturing environments to ensure equipment readiness, site execution, and commissioning activities are performed in compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards necessary to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations;
  • Working within regulated manufacturing environments governed by GMP principles, including adherence to documented procedures, data integrity expectations, and quality system requirements applicable across regulated industries such as biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated food manufacturing;
  • Participation in preparing manufacturing or processing equipment for GMP use, coordinating with engineering, maintenance, and suppliers to confirm readiness before operation;
  • Equipment installation, startup, or modification activities under GMP controls, ensuring work is performed in a manner consistent with validated processes, hygiene requirements, and contamination prevention principles;
  • Participation in commissioning, startup, or qualification-related activities for manufacturing equipment or utilities, including tasks required to verify equipment suitability for regulated production;
  • Process equipment, material flow, and utilities knowledge used in GMP manufacturing to support installation, readiness, and operational transitions; and
  • Coordinating execution activities using production schedules, project timelines, and work plans to support timely delivery of manufacturing or project milestones while maintaining GMP compliance.

Job type: Full-Time position.

The annual salary for this position in the U.S. is $149,826.60 per year.

Also, this position offers stock, retirement, medical, life and disability insurance and eligibility for an annual bonus or for sales roles other incentive compensation.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
