Job summary

Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for an Engineering Project Lead to join our Cyber AI team in Rome, NY. This onsite role will support a team of software engineers and research scientists in delivering mission‑relevant solutions in support of DoD customers.

It combines hands‑on technical leadership with people management, program execution, and customer engagement. This role will contribute to business development efforts including proposals, whitepapers, and IR&D initiatives;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or analytical field with 5 years of experience in complex, high-stakes operational environments.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing and/or mentoring teams.
• Demonstrated experience writing technical white papers and/or operational documentation.
• Proven track record managing and mentoring teams, developing SOPs, and conducting performance‑oriented feedback.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical or analytical concepts for senior stakeholders and mission partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers and research scientists; conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Plan, staff, and execute software and cyber task orders with the program manager.
• Track milestones, manage risks, and communicate status to government customers.
• Ensure deliverables meet contractual requirements and security standards.
• Collaborate on whitepapers and proposals; support business development efforts.
