Job summary

Sanmina Corporation is seeking an Engineering Project Coordinator Intern to gain hands-on experience in program management. You will support Viking Enterprise Solutions development programs for enterprise-class products, working closely with senior program managers to build real-world management skills.

Responsibilities include tracking schedules, documenting status updates, coordinating with manufacturing and development teams, and shadowing team leaders during customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Basic understanding of project management; internship or leadership experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in tracking dependencies, updating project schedules, and learning to identify project risks and mitigation strategies under mentor guidance.
• Help gather, document, and communicate status updates regarding Engineering deliverables and overall program progress to stakeholders.
• Assist in tracking team progress toward Phase Gate criteria within our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process.
• Track committed versus actual completion dates for program milestones and maintain centralized project tracking documentation.
• Shadow team leaders during customer interactions and cross-functional coordination between manufacturing and development teams.
• Support the execution and delivery of smaller program components under direct supervision.

Job Purpose:

The Engineering Project Coordinator Intern will gain hands‑on experience in program management, supporting operations and customer interface execution. Working closely with senior program managers, this intern will assist in the success of Viking Enterprise Solutions development programs for enterprise‑class products while building real‑world management skills.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist in tracking dependencies, updating project schedules, and learning to identify project risks and mitigation strategies under mentor guidance.
• Help gather, document, and communicate status updates regarding Engineering deliverables and overall program progress to stakeholders.
• Assist in tracking team progress toward Phase Gate criteria within our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process.
• Track committed versus actual completion dates for program milestones and maintain centralized project tracking documentation.
• Shadow team leaders during customer interactions and cross‑functional coordination between manufacturing and development teams.

Education and Experience:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (must be in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year)in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Basic understanding of project management principles; previous internship or project leadership experience in academic settings is a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High curiosity, positive attitude, and a strong desire to learn and grow as a project management professional.
