Job summary

Western Digital Capital in Fremont, CA is seeking a Process Technician for night shift to support CMP processing, wafer disposition, and production flow. You will work under Process Engineering to set up and modify recipes and help maintain CMP equipment.

Qualified candidates bring hands-on wafer manufacturing knowledge, MES experience (MESA/MITECS/CAMSTAR/SPOTFIRE/SPECDB), and data analysis skills (SQL/JMP). Associate or higher in science/engineering is preferred, CMP experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of wafer manufacturing processes and factory logistics.
• Experience with manufacturing systems such as MESA, MITECS, CAMSTAR, SPOTFIRE, SPECDB or similar.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL, JMP, or similar platforms.
• Solid problem-solving and communication skills with ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to address minor process and equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Support the Process Engineering team in the CMP area and assist manufacturing with wafer disposition and overall production flow.
• Follow Process Engineer instructions to set up, modify, and maintain process recipes.
• Support qualification and operation of CMP tools, including nTEG, AMAT Mirra, and EBARA FREX.
• Identify and troubleshoot processing or equipment issues impacting output or product quality.
• Analyze defect data from AIT, ODIN, FIB, and SEM, and take first-line actions to prevent process excursions.
• Recommend, document, and implement process or tooling improvements under the direction of the Process Engineer.
