Job summary

Purdue University’s School of Mechanical Engineering and Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering invite applications for a non-tenure track Faculty of Engineering Practice position at the rank of associate or full professor, with the possibility of a joint appointment.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate core and elective courses in Indianapolis and may teach graduate courses, engage in research, and contribute to experiential learning and industry outreach.

Qualifications

• Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree, or an MSc. degree with at least 10 years of professional experience, in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Bridge Engineering, Design and Manufacturing, Automation, or a related discipline by the start date of employment.
• The candidate will identify an area of engineering practice that integrates their professional experiences with the Schools of Mechanical and/or Civil and Construction Engineering’s research, education, and engagement/outreach programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate core and elective courses.
• Opportunity to teach graduate level courses and to be involved in research.
• Assist with student experiential learning activities, support the Schools through industry outreach, and/or contribute to senior capstone design activities.

Education

Ph.D. degree

MSc. degree with at least 10 years of professional experience
