Job summary

Concrete Careers seeks an Engineering Manager to guide the drafting and design organization, support Professional Engineers, and act as a trusted decision-maker on engineering and design matters.

The role strengthens internal engineering capabilities with day-to-day leadership, staff development, process improvement, and executive-level technical judgment. The candidate will listen, welcome feedback, and still make final design decisions when required.

Qualifications

• Engineering leadership within precast, prestress, structural engineering.
• Experience leading drafting, design, and engineering professionals.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to make complex design decisions.
• Prestressed concrete experience strongly preferred.
• Experience from an engineering consulting firm may be considered.
• Proven success in improving engineering processes, systems, or team performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the drafting and design team and lead engineers.
• Serve as a key decision-maker for final technical judgments on engineering/design.
• Provide confident direction on complex design matters and executive decisions.
• Apply strong technical knowledge while considering broader business impact.
• Lead, coach, and develop drafting, design, and engineering staff.
