Job summary

Baseten is seeking an Engineering Manager for Storage Products on the Runtime Fabric team to lead a 5–10 person systems engineering group focused on storage, caching, and Linux internals. You will own reliability, guide architecture, and stay close to code while shaping the delivery path for multi-cluster, multi-provider deployments.

You will influence containerized delivery, contribute to the containerd ecosystem, and drive improvements from origin tier to GPU host.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a team of engineers in a systems/infrastructure/storage context.
• Hands-on background in distributed storage systems, content-addressable storage, or large-scale caching infrastructure.
• Strong systems programming in Go, Rust, or C/C++, with code-review and architecture experience.
• Working knowledge of the Linux storage stack (filesystems, page cache, block devices).
• Understanding of how container images are structured, stored, and delivered at scale.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with cross-team influence.

Responsibilities

• Hire and grow a team of 5 to 10 engineers with storage, caching, and Linux expertise.
• Plan and deliver against the Runtime Fabric roadmap; set priorities and ship on cadence.
• Coach and develop direct reports; own on-call health for the team.
• Review designs and code; contribute hands-on work as needed; mentor across the organization.
