Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers within the Platforms Storage group. You will guide project goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop your engineers across multiple teams and locations, overseeing large-scale projects and a substantial product budget.

You will design and develop platform software and solutions for NAND flash, SSDs, storage appliances, and next-generation storage technologies, coordinating with vendors and internal teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with Linux Kernel, Operating Systems, Embedded Systems.
• Experience with SDLC, SRM, or feature planning and prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers to deliver against the PIE roadmap with planning, execution, and quality.
• Gather requirements with the larger team, understand high level architecture and collaborate with executive developers on design.
• Manage budget, resources, and tooling planning to deliver against the roadmap.
• Drive all aspects of development including requirements, design, implementation, unit testing and integration with high quality deliverables.
• Evaluate new storage component technology, drivers, health monitors, and tools for Data Center needs.
