Job summary

Brillio is a leading digital technology services company seeking a Technical Engineering Manager with deep AWS expertise to lead multiple distributed teams in delivering scalable cloud-native solutions.

You will drive architecture decisions, mentor senior engineers, and partner with stakeholders to align technology roadmaps with business goals. Location is hybrid in New York/New Jersey, with a strong focus on modernization and client success.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years software engineering experience with at least 5 years leading engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM).
• Experience with microservices, API design, and IaC tooling.

Job requirements

Experience Range: With 8 to 12 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 5 years managing engineering teams and delivering enterprise-scale cloud-native solutions within the AWS ecosystem

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams across multiple distributed workstreams to deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions
2. Establish and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within engineering teams
3. Drive engineering best practices, Agile delivery methodologies, code quality standards, operational excellence, and reliability across projects, ensuring measurable improvements in delivery velocity and quality
4. Own end-to-end delivery of strategic technology programs, including roadmap definition, execution planning, milestone tracking, and proactive risk mitigation
5. Provide technical leadership for AWS-based cloud architectures, guiding teams in leveraging compute, storage, networking, serverless, databases, messaging, and security services
6. Drive modernization initiatives such as microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, DevOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code to ensure scalable and resilient solutions
7. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, facilitating executive-level discussions on technology strategy, engineering roadmaps, and transformation initiatives
8. Establish and monitor engineering KPIs, SLAs, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction measures, driving continuous improvement to enhance delivery velocity and reliability

Required Skills

1. Advanced expertise in AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and IAM
2. Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
3. Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, Go, React, or TypeScript
4. Strong background in API design and implementation
5. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
6. Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
7. Operational knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms
8. Experience with serverless computing and AWS Lambda optimization

Preferred Skills

1. Knowledge of advanced AWS security and compliance frameworks
2. Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration
3. Background in cost optimization and performance tuning for cloud-native applications
4. Expertise in scaling distributed systems for high availability and reliability

Desired Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline
2. AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification
3. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
