Summary

Lead an engineering team responsible for the enterprise product data layer that powers merchandising, pricing, personalization, vendor programs, and downstream analytics. This hybrid Seattle role combines technical leadership, hands‑on architecture and platform modernization with people management to deliver reliable, scalable data products and partner data feeds.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a team of engineers building event-driven pipelines and cloud data warehouse products.
• Own the enterprise product dimension layer and ensure high data quality across item hierarchies.
• Drive the brand partner data program to onboard and sustain external vendor feeds.
• Deliver pricing, promotions, and campaign reporting capabilities in partnership with merchandising and marketing.
• Lead platform modernization efforts including medallion architecture migration, observability, and cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute to architecture and design decisions and promote DevOps best practices (CI/CD, IaC, monitoring, incident response).

Requirements

• 5+ years software engineering experience with event-driven systems or distributed data pipelines.
• 2+ years managing engineering teams with hiring, coaching, and performance feedback responsibilities.
• Hands‑on experience with Kafka or Confluent Cloud and messaging patterns.
• Proficiency with Java and/or Spring Boot for building microservice consumers.
• Experience building data products in cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP), Terraform, containerization, CI/CD, and production monitoring.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
