Job summary

Google is hiring a Software Engineering Manager for the Infrastructure Engineering team. You will lead a software engineering group focused on automated traffic routing and maintenance systems, balancing technical leadership with people management.

You will define the strategy and roadmap for critical automated systems, develop next-generation APIs, and help advance self-driving network initiatives across production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers to design, build, deploy, and operate the critical software systems that directly manage the global data center networking infrastructure.
• Cultivate a high-performance culture of technical excellence, inspire engineers across wide initiatives, and directly manage a highly collaborative group of software engineers.
• Guide teammates to design and implement features to further our intent-based network management goals.
• Build cross-functional relationships across the wider organization to deliver advanced automated flows that seamlessly execute network lifecycle operations.
