Job description

WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That’s the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

OVERVIEW

This role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Marketing, and Data, owning the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of our marketing technology ecosystem. You'll lead the implementation and evolution of our Customer Data Platform (CDP), marketing automation infrastructure, and customer activation capabilities while partnering closely with Lifecycle Marketing, CRM, Data Engineering, and Analytics.

We're looking for an engineering leader who can provide technical direction, mentor engineers, and remain close enough to the architecture and code to guide design decisions while helping the team execute at a high level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the engineering roadmap for the marketing technology ecosystem, including CDP, reverse ETL, customer data infrastructure, and marketing automation platforms.
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of Hightouch (or similar CDP) and build scalable customer data pipelines and activation capabilities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Product teams to deliver reliable, scalable marketing technology solutions.
  • Drive architecture, platform integrations, and engineering best practices across customer data, personalization, and lifecycle marketing systems.
  • Build scalable cross-channel activation across Email, SMS, Push, and paid media platforms.
  • Champion engineering excellence through system reliability, code quality, documentation, observability, and operational best practices.
  • Manage vendor relationships, platform migrations, and technical implementations while ensuring data quality, privacy, and governance.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6+ years of experience in Marketing Technology, Marketing Operations, CRM, Customer Data Platforms, or Data Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience leading technical teams or large cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience implementing or managing CDPs and reverse ETL platforms such as Hightouch, GrowthLoop, ActionIQ, or similar.
  • Experience with marketing automation and customer engagement platforms such as Braze, Twilio, Attentive, Airship, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of customer data, identity resolution, personalization, lifecycle marketing, and retention strategies.
  • Experience partnering across Marketing, Data, Engineering, and Analytics organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, cloud data platforms, and modern marketing technology ecosystems.
  • Experience in high-growth retail or eCommerce environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience with experimentation, attribution, and marketing measurement is a plus.
  • Python or JavaScript experience is a plus.
