Job summary

SSW Advanced Technologies (AAP Division) seeks a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the Newport, Tennessee manufacturing engineering team. You will stay engaged with operations, drive process improvements, equipment performance, and team development.

You will mentor talent, guide priorities, and collaborate across Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Leadership to foster accountability and continuous improvement. This role supports new product launches and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Progressive engineering experience in manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading engineers, technicians, or technical project teams.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methods.
• New product launch and project management experience.
• Ability to work effectively in both office and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and mentor engineering talent.
• Guide engineering priorities that align with business and operational goals.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Leadership teams.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost improvements in manufacturing.
• Identify and implement process improvements across manufacturing operations.
• Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and troubleshooting activities.
• Lead projects from concept through implementation.
• Coordinate engineering resources, timelines, and priorities.
• Support new product launches and manufacturing readiness activities.
