Job summary

Crusoe is seeking an Engineering Manager, Deployment to lead our global deployment efforts for HPC and GPU-based AI infrastructure. You will manage a deployment team across multiple sites and time zones, driving automation and standardized processes to scale the network turn-up.

You will collaborate with Data Center Ops, Supply Chain and Site Reliability to ensure timely, quality delivery and continuous improvement, while coaching engineers for technical growth and leadership development.

About this Role:

Crusoe Cloud is seeking an Engineering Manager, Deployment to help lead the organization responsible for physically and logically bringing our global network online. As we rapidly scale our footprint of high-performance compute (HPC) and GPU-based AI infrastructure, you will manage a deployment team's people, process, and delivery across a portion of our growing portfolio of concurrent global builds, working closely with Network Deployment technical leadership to execute against strategy.

You're accountable for your team's output: every site, every quarter, at hyperscale pace. You build and grow your team, help drive adoption of deployment standards in day-to-day practice, and contribute to planning conversations with Data Center Ops, Supply Chain, and Site Reliability leadership.

What You'll Be Working On:

• Build and Lead Your Team: Manage your team's structure and growth. Hire and develop Network Production Engineers across multiple sites and time zones.

• Drive Deployment Automation Adoption: Help execute the automation strategy across the deployment lifecycle, including ZTP-based provisioning, Ansible-driven configuration, and CI/CD pipelines for network turn-up. Hold your engineers accountable for replacing manual, repeatable steps with automated workflows as the site pipeline scales.

• Deliver Your Portion of the Portfolio: Be accountable for on-time, zero-defect delivery across your assigned site build-outs. Manage the operating cadence and staffing for your team within the broader program.

• Execute Against Strategy: Work with Network Deployment technical leadership to turn deployment strategy and standards into execution plans for your team, and surface field realities that should inform how those standards evolve.

• Report on Program Status: Provide program reporting and risk escalation on your team's work to Data Center Ops, Supply Chain, and Site Reliability leadership as needed.

• Manage Vendor and Partner Performance: Hold structured cabling vendors, remote hands, and data center providers to defined SLAs and quality bars for your sites. Escalate systemic partner issues.

• Champion Validation Rigor: Ensure burn-in and site acceptance testing (SAT) standards are consistently met across your sites. Partner with Operations leadership on handoff quality and root-cause resolution.

• Support Capacity Planning: Provide input to Supply Chain and Infrastructure leadership on hardware lifecycle, lead-time risk, and turn-up cadence for your team's site pipeline.

• Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Participate in cross-site retrospectives and post-incident reviews. Surface gaps in tooling, staffing, or process for your team.

• Develop Team Members: Coach engineers into stronger technical and people contributors.

• Apply Frontend Network Reference Architecture: Build sites against established reference architectures for the frontend GPU/compute fabric (leaf-spine design, RDMA/RoCE, optics, scale-out topology), and provide field feedback to Architecture as GPU generations and interconnect standards evolve.

• Apply Backend Network Reference Architecture: Build sites against established reference architectures for backend networks (storage fabric, management, out-of-band connectivity), ensuring your team's builds integrate cleanly with frontend fabric during turn-up.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

• 6+ years of experience in network engineering or data center deployment, including 2+ years managing engineers in a large-scale infrastructure environment.

• Proven People Leadership: Track record of building and retaining a high-performing technical team.

• Program Execution: Demonstrated ability to deliver on multiple concurrent, complex projects spanning sites, time zones, and vendors, with solid reporting and risk management.

• Strong Technical Fluency: Solid grounding in physical layer standards (structured cabling, optics, 400G/800G and beyond), leaf-spine fabric (Arista/Juniper/NVIDIA-Mellanox), and protocols (BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, LLDP), enough to guide your team and engage credibly with Architecture.

• Automation Fluency: Working understanding of Python/Ansible/ZTP-based deployment automation and CI/CD patterns, sufficient to drive adoption within your team.

• Vendor and Partner Management: Experience holding external partners to SLAs, including escalation when performance slips.

• Clear Communication: Comfortable setting context and managing expectations with stakeholders across Ops, Supply Chain, and Architecture.

• Operational Judgment: Able to balance near‑term delivery pressure against team health and sustainability.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience in hyperscale or ISP environments.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $200,000 - $240,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
