Job summary

Valmet in Shrewsbury, MA seeks a Customer Order Engineering Manager to lead the local engineering team, ensuring timely, accurate order execution and adherence to company standards. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in industrial manufacturing, automation, flow control, valves, actuators, or related industries.
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including coaching and talent development.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and AutoCAD.
• Experience with customer-specific engineered-to-order (ETO) products is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with FEA, GD&T, statistical analysis, and product validation methodologies.
• Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Shrewsbury group in creating engineering data for manufacturing drawings.
• Direct conceptual engineering, material selection, design, prototyping and testing.
• Configure products using 2D/3D CAD and generate detailed drawings.
• Collaborate with global COE team to develop new tools and improve workflows.
• Support product validation and ensure compliance with external standards.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
