Job summary
Riot Games is seeking an Engineering Manager to guide a Core Game Loop team through software development and operations lifecycles. You will mentor engineers, manage performance, and drive accountability while partnering with Product, Delivery, and Tech Leads to align plans.
The role focuses on live services, reliability, and scalable game platform engineering across Riot’s titles. You’ll interview, onboard, and grow talent and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative culture.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years as a Software Engineer on tools/services teams.
- 2+ years leading an engineering team (Eng Manager or Tech Lead).
- Experience growing and mentoring engineers.
- Experience recruiting and building teams.
- Experience with distributed systems and high-scale software.
- Experience operating live services and on-call support.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 5+ software engineers, mentoring and driving performance.
- Collaborate with Product, Delivery, and Tech Leads to align on plans.
- Support technical vision and roadmap by allocating engineers.
- Own interviewing and onboarding for new engineers.
- Be accountable for technical health of products and code quality.
- Stay hands-on with code reviews and critical tasks.
- Foster cross-team collaboration across Riot globally.
- Own and operate live services with reliability and incident response.
