Job summary

Hayden AI in San Francisco is hiring our first Engineering Manager for Cloud (Production) Infrastructure. You will lead the team responsible for reliability, roadmaps, cost, and the engineers who build it.

This hands-on leader coordinates across product, device, and security teams, sets the operational bar, and grows a small, senior team as our fleet scales. The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid schedule requiring at least 3 days in-office per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years managing infrastructure/platform/SRE engineers and 6+ years hands-on cloud infrastructure
• Experience running production systems with uptime and on‑call obligations
• Deep, hands-on experience building and operating cloud infrastructure with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps/ArgoCD, CI/CD, observability

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of infrastructure engineers; own hiring, performance, and career development.
• Be accountable for reliability and day-to-day operation of Hayden cloud platform; set and monitor SLOs, on-call, observability, incident response, postmortems.
• Build and deliver the cloud infrastructure roadmap with product, edge/device, data, and security leadership.
• Drive infrastructure standards: Kubernetes, Terraform/IaC, GitOps (ArgoCD), CI/CD, device PKI and secure device-to-cloud communication.
• Plan cloud cost, capacity, and vendor relationships; keep infrastructure audit-ready for SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001.

Job Summary:

We’re hiring our first Engineering Manager for Cloud (Production) Infrastructure to lead the team that owns this platform: its reliability, its roadmap, its cost, and the engineers who build it. You’ll be a hands‑on leader who plans and coordinates across product, device, and security teams, sets the operational bar, and grows a small, senior team as our fleet and customer base scale.. This position is based in San Francisco and follows a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days in-office per week.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of infrastructure engineers; own hiring, performance, and career development.

• Be accountable for the reliability and day‑to‑day operation of the Hayden cloud platform. Set and monitor SLOs, maintain effective on‑call coverage and observability, lead incident response and postmortems, and drive follow‑up work to prevent recurring issues.

• Build and deliver the cloud infrastructure roadmap in partnership with product, edge/device, data, and security leadership.

• Drive infrastructure standards: Kubernetes, Terraform/IaC, GitOps (ArgoCD), CI/CD, device PKI and secure device‑to‑cloud communication.

• Be responsible for planning cloud cost, capacity planning, and vendor relationships; keep infrastructure audit‑ready for SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001.

Travel Requirements [include only if required]:

• Position requires travel for up to one week per year..

• Travel may include [local/regional/national] trips for [client meetings, project work, training, conferences].

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

• Experience: 2+ years managing infrastructure/platform/SRE engineers, plus 6+ years hands‑on in cloud infrastructure. Experience running production systems with real uptime and on‑call obligations.
