Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks a senior technical leader experienced in managing CVN/SSN test programs and complex networks. The role involves planning, scheduling, security, and sea trials across shipboard and land-based environments.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in engineering (ABET-accredited) with 8+ years of progressive experience; advanced degrees preferred. The position offers a competitive salary, security clearance, and travel up to 10% in Virginia.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Master's Degree in engineering is a plus.
PhD in engineering with relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead CVN and/or SSN Combat, Large Networks and Non-Propulsion Electronics Industrial Test Program management, including planning, scheduling, progressing, security and testing (land-based, shipboard, certification and sea trials).
Coordinate across Shipbuilder, Government, NAVSEA, and Ship’s Force test teams for safety and success.
Demonstrate strong written and oral communication across multi-organizational stakeholders.
