Job summary

Procter & Gamble is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead technical excellence across centers and advanced plants. You will guide teams, deliver new product and process innovations, and drive automation, digital solutions, and capability building in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will manage critical CSO projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate with operators to senior leaders, while pursuing sustainability and HS&E standards in global operations.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing Process Development: Translate R&D innovations into scalable manufacturing processes and validate packaging materials.
  • Converting & Packing Engineering: Lead invention and refinement of high-speed packaging technologies and design.
  • Instrumentation & Metrology: Design and maintain precision instrumentation for quality control and optimization.
  • Robotics Engineering: Conceptualize and integrate cutting-edge robotic solutions for manufacturing tasks.

What You Will Do

As an Engineering Manager, you will drive technical excellence and strategic projects within our technical centers and advanced manufacturing plants. Your role blends deep technical problem-solving with leadership and project execution, with a strong emphasis on innovation and capability building.

  • Intelligent Controls & Automation (ICA): Lead design, development, and implementation of complex control systems, robotics, Industry 4.0 technologies, and AI/ML solutions. Build digital landscapes for production equipment and lead data analytics for control system improvements.
  • Mechanical Design & Development (APS): Lead all phases of mechanical process/equipment development and prototyping. Deliver disruptive solutions using modeling, analysis, and hands-on prototyping, and identify emerging technologies.
  • Manufacturing Process Development (MPD): Lead the translation of R&D innovations into scalable manufacturing processes. Drive packaging material validation, create technical specifications, optimize production lines, and manage supplier qualifications.
  • Converting & Packing Engineering: Lead invention and refinement of material conversion and high-speed packaging technologies, driving advanced mechanical design and process optimization.
  • Instrumentation & Metrology: Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of precision instrumentation and metrology systems for quality control and performance optimization.
  • Robotics Engineering: Lead conceptualization, development, and integration of cutting-edge robotic solutions for manufacturing tasks.
  • Environmental & Civil Engineering: Lead sustainable engineering solutions (waste, energy, water) and manage site infrastructure projects.
  • Technical Leadership: Build long-term technical capability, lead adoption of advanced digital solutions, and ensure HS&E/Quality standards.

Job Qualifications Required
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, Materials Science, Packaging Science, Environmental, Civil).
  • Experience: 0-5 years of relevant work experience (internships, co-ops, research experience, academic count!).
  • Technical Curiosity & Acumen: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, develop comprehensive technical solutions, and interpret data to drive decisions. A strong technical curiosity and understanding to proactively develop new approaches to complex problems.
  • Project Mindset: A strong desire and demonstrated capability to lead projects, manage timelines/budgets, and drive results in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated leadership potential and experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders (from operators to senior management).

  • Travel: Ability to travel 10-25% as business needs dictate. Preferred: Proven experience with industrial PLCs (Rockwell), process/machine control, sensors, motors, industrial automation, or computer/industrial networks. Experience with Robotics, Machine Vision, or programming (Python, LabVIEW, Java, C#). Proven application of mechanical systems engineering (3D CAD, CAE, machine design, mechatronics). Experience in R&D, advanced manufacturing, or technical centers. Specific expertise in packaging materials/processes and/or precision instrumentation/metrology.
