Job summary

Marathon Electric, LLC is seeking an Engineering Director to lead the Generators Engineering organization, driving design, documentation, and support for generator products. You will partner with customers, Sales, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Quality to achieve objectives.

You will oversee a multi-functional team, work with global engineering on standardization, and help drive strategic growth through innovation and collaboration with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in product development, manufacturing support, or related engineering functions.
• Demonstrated leadership experience leading engineering teams in a global manufacturing environment.
• Experience with rotating electrical equipment, including generators, motors, alternators, or similar electromechanical products.
• Strong understanding of engineering documentation, including drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), engineering change management, and product lifecycle processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal leadership at all levels.
• Experience leading engineering organizations within a global manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards and agency / regulatory requirements for rotating electrical equipment.

• Partner with Sales, Quality and Field Service organizations to resolve customer technical issues.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to standardize products, share best practices, and leverage worldwide engineering resources.
• Work closely with global Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sourcing teams to improve product cost, reliability, quality, and plant performance.
• Develop and manage engineering department budget, staffing plans, and resource allocation to support business objectives.
• Support execution of the company's strategic growth initiatives through engineering leadership, innovation, and customer collaboration.
• Serve as a member of the Marathon Generators leadership team to develop business plans and strategy.

Position Summary: The Engineering Director is responsible for leading the Marathon Generators Engineering organization in the design, documentation, support, and continuous improvement of generator products. This position provides technical and organizational leadership to a multi‑functional engineering team, while partnering closely with customers and Sales, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Quality teams to achieve business objectives.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:
