Job summary

Diversified Recruitment Services, LLC is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the facility's engineering function, guiding design, development, manufacturing support, testing, and continuous improvement. You will work with Sales, Corporate Engineering, Operations, and other teams to pursue new opportunities and boost profitability.

The role involves managing the engineering team, prioritizing budgets, implementing process changes, and ensuring engineering work aligns with customer requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant engineering and manufacturing experience required.
  • Previous engineering leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, technical experience, and leadership experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all engineering activities for the facility, including product design, process engineering, manufacturing support, testing, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Sales, Corporate Engineering, Operations, and other departments to identify, evaluate, plan, and secure new business opportunities.
  • Direct the development of new products and processes as well as modifications and improvements to existing designs.
  • Lead engineering initiatives focused on improving manufacturing processes, productivity, quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Develop and implement process changes to support operational and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with plant leadership and production teams to evaluate feasibility, cost effectiveness, capacity requirements, and customer demand.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that positively impact plant profitability, operational performance, scrap, labor efficiency, and cost.
  • Provide technical leadership and problem-solving support for manufacturing and production issues.
  • Develop and oversee engineering testing procedures and ensure validation of new or modified products and processes.
  • Establish departmental priorities and ensure projects are completed on schedule, budget, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Forecast departmental operating costs and prepare and manage engineering budget requests.
  • Build strong working relationships across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Sales, and other functional areas.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented approach and demonstrate professionalism and integrity.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
  • Maintain regular attendance and flexibility to work additional hours as required.

  • Experience leading engineering projects from concept through implementation and production.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement cost reduction and productivity improvements.
  • Experience supporting new product or new business launches.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to evaluate technical feasibility, manufacturing capability, cost, and business impact.
  • Strong leadership and team-development capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with plant leadership, customers, corporate engineering, sales, production, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
