Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a Manufacturing Engineering team in Taunton, MA. Translate customer requirements into scalable production solutions while guiding process development, NPI, and continuous improvement across manufacturing disciplines.

You will collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations to drive DFM/DFA, manage budgets, and deliver on-time product launches in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 7+ years in manufacturing, product development, or design engineering.
• 3+ years in leadership, supervision, or people management.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers.
• Oversee process development, tooling, and fixture design for CNC and assembly.
• Support DFM/DFA with customers and internal teams.
• Develop labor and material estimates with sales for complex opportunities.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive NPI activities for production launches.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic planning for growth and capital investments.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead an engineering team and help drive manufacturing excellence. In this role, you will translate customer requirements into efficient, scalable production solutions while providing technical leadership across process development, new product introduction, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an opportunity for a hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and enjoys collaborating across engineering, sales, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers.
• Oversee manufacturing process development, including work instructions, tooling, and fixture design for CNC machining and assembly operations.
• Partner with customers and internal teams to support Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and technical problem‑solving initiatives.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop labor and material cost estimates for complex electromechanical manufacturing opportunities.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts related to production and technical issues.
• Manage new product introduction (NPI) activities to ensure successful product launches into production.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.
• Contribute to strategic planning efforts related to business growth, technology development, capacity expansion, and capital investments.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across departments and with customers.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing best practices, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with CAD software in a manufacturing environment; PDM experience is a plus.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing, product development, or design engineering environment.
• At least 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or people‑management experience

This is a Permanent position based out of Taunton, MA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $160000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
