Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead technical and managerial activities for the engineering department, oversee new product introductions, cost reductions, and maintenance of production parts.

You will manage teams, coordinate with customers, and develop programs to grow engineering leadership through Co-op and development initiatives. A strong background in mechanical/materials engineering and 10+ years experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering to design new products, modify designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
• Provide a strong technical presence and interface with customers.
• Consult with engineering, operations, and sales on feasibility, cost, and customer demand for new and existing products.
• Select, train, organize and supervise subordinates to guarantee their effectiveness and growth.
• Develop a pipeline of engineering and leadership through engagement with Co-op and Development programs.
• Provide technical support to production on new concepts and manufacturing objectives.
• Champion and support the Engineering Group’s needs and requirements.
• Establish and execute annual operating budgets with input from Finance.
• Formulate long and short-range strategies for engineering functions.
• Monthly and weekly forecasting and capacity review.

Essential Functions

• Support engineering department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
• Provide a strong technical presence & interface with our customers.
• Confers with the engineering team, operations, and sales to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products
• Selects, trains, organizes and supervises subordinates to guarantee their effectiveness, and personal growth.
• Develop a pipeline of engineering and leadership through engagement with Co-op and Development programs
• Provides technical support and guidance to the production departments on new concepts, technical issues and overall manufacturing objectives.
• Champions and supports the Engineering Group’s specific needs and requirements.

Experience & Education
