PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN ILLINOIS. RELOCATION WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION. ALL INTERESTED CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON-SITE AND RELOCATE FOR THE POSITION.

The Engineering Manager will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of a highly skilled engineering team while ensuring company objectives and goals are met.

Job Summary

This person would be responsible for leading 3-4 employees and will directly oversee the engineering department. This is a hands‑on role, and the engineering manager will perform the following duties:

  • Provides hands‑on support with engineering project requirements.
  • Leads and coordinates various engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, sales support, production support, and development of new and existing product lines.
  • Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
  • Ensures projects comply with specifications, timelines, and elevator code.
  • Reviews work and projects for technical accuracy.
  • Establishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of elevator codes and compliance requirements.
  • Must have prior experience working in accordance with ASME 17.1 elevator codes and excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Innovative with a “think outside the box” mentality.
  • Proficient with utilizing AutoCAD software.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering theory and design criteria.
  • Thorough understanding of applied math and physics.

Education and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading an engineering team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
