Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a seasoned Electrical Engineer to design utility-grade power systems for industrial applications. The role requires 10+ years of electrical design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and SDS, and strong communication. US work authorization is required; some travel may be expected.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering required.
• Ten or more years of electrical design and engineering experience required.
• Five or more years of managing project engineers required.
• Experience with Protection & Control Panel components (SEL, Electroswitch, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures work meets schedule, quality standards, budgets, and change management.

• Leads FAT inspections for panels and power distribution equipment.
• Reviews estimates to confirm technical offerings.

Job Summary:

Panelmatic is seeking a detail-oriented experienced Electrical Engineer who will design and implement Utility grade, industrial, commercial, and domestic electrical power systems.

Job Duties:

• Leads the engineering and project management efforts on assigned projects and is responsible for coordinating the individual Engineering Disciplines such that the most cost-effective total project solution for executing engineering work is achieved
• Ensures that the engineering work on the project is completed on schedule, meets quality standards including review meetings and checking procedures, performance is within the baseline man-hour and material budgets, required deliverables are produced and change management is executed in a timely manner
• Reviews the status of the schedule and progress performance with the Clients on a regular basis, and keep the General Managers apprised of issues
• Ensures the quality of the engineering execution and deliverables
• Participates in people development through mentoring, development of training material, and conducting or training seminars
• Develops and builds client relations
• Develop electrical documents for the scope of work definition, specification, data sheets, equipment selection, drawing review, schematic development, wiring diagrams, physical layout drawings, and project close-out procedures for low to medium-voltage industrial power distribution systems
• Prepared purchase requisitions for various electrical equipment
• Leads inspection and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for various relay panels, Power Distribution Centers, and remote instrumentation enclosure Buildings
• Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations, and industry practices
• Review estimates to confirm the technical offerings of the product

• Five or more years in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and Substation Design Suite (SDS) is preferred
• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering required
• Ten or more years of experience in electrical design and engineering required
• Five or more years of experience in managing project Engineers and junior engineers required or more years of product knowledge of key electrical components of a Protection & Control Panel (SEL, Electroswitch, test switches, etc.) required
• Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills required
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required

• Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required
• Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four plus hours at a time required
