Fervo Energy seeks an Engineering Manager to own the ORC equipment and plant layout, leading a cross-functional team of engineers across multiple sites. You will guide design, cost, and schedule from concept to startup, collaborating with operations, controls, and supply chain to deliver reliable, scalable geothermal power hardware.
The role requires hands-on leadership, advanced thermodynamics/heat transfer expertise, and a track record of shipping hardware in manufacturing or energy sectors.
Fervo Energy (NASDAQ: FRVO) is a modern power company developing next-generation geothermal resources to meet the growing demand for affordable, reliable, 24/7 carbon-free energy. Our mission is to transform geothermal into America’s most dependable and affordable source of clean, around-the-clock power. By combining innovations in horizontal drilling, fiber-optic sensing, and advanced reservoir engineering, Fervo has developed a repeatable approach to building utility-scale enhanced geothermal systems. Our flagship Cape Station development in Utah is planned to deliver 500 MW of firm, carbon-free power, and we are advancing a development pipeline of more than 50 GW. Join us and work alongside world-class engineers, geoscientists, operators, project builders, and business leaders working to make geothermal a cornerstone of a more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy future.
The Engineering Manager owns the ORC equipment and plant layout: everything in the power cycle except the turbine and generator. That means the air-cooled condenser, heat exchangers, pumps, piping, cabling layout, and associated low-voltage equipment. You own design, cost, and schedule for that scope from preliminary design through startup, on every project in every basin Fervo builds in. You lead a cross-functional team of process, mechanical, electrical, and structural/civil engineers and are accountable for schedule, budget, cost forecasting, quality of work, and the performance of the OEMs and suppliers who build the equipment. You will work every day with the electrical, controls, turbine and pipeline teams, as well as with Supply Chain, Construction, and Operations. We are looking for an engineer who knows thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid systems cold, has led and grew a team of engineers before, and has shipped real hardware in a manufacturing or hardware business. This role reports to the Director of Engineering.
