Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking an Engineering Manager for a manufacturing company in Fort Wayne, IN.

This role leads a diverse engineering team, directs manufacturing excellence, and drives NPI and process improvements. You will shape capital plans, manage cost/quoting, and ensure FDA/quality compliance in a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in manufacturing with a strong CNC background and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years manufacturing, with leadership.
• Strong CNC milling/turning background.
• Experience in medical device, aerospace, or precision metals preferred.
• Proven ability to lead teams in complex, regulated settings.
• Exposure to NPI, Lean initiatives, and cost/quoting analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a diverse engineering team including manufacturing, CNC programming, and NPI staff
• Oversee new product launches and optimize ongoing production performance
• Manage quoting activities and collaborate with customers on project feasibility
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving
• Implement process and technology enhancements to boost efficiency and quality
• Develop capital equipment plans aligned with growth targets
• Ensure regulatory compliance with FDA and quality standards
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and commercial teams
• Provide DFM input and lead root cause investigations for production issues
