We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join a team at an integrated facility that processes the Gulf menhaden species into fishmeal, fish oil, and fish soluble products, based out of Empire, LA. The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering, electrical, mechanical, welding, maintenance, and technical operations teams within the production facility. This role ensures optimal plant performance, reliability of equipment, compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and continuous improvement of processing systems.

Responsibilities
Plant Engineering & Maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently
- Perform reliable repairs to minimize downtime and production loss
- Complete maintenance per equipment specs and regulatory requirements
- Track and report KPIs including downtime, production, and labor hours
- Ensure regulatory maintenance and documentation are completed on time
- Coordinate with EHS to maintain facility compliance and accreditation
- Manage maintenance spending within budget
- Maintain steam availability and required pressure levels for operations
- Oversee equipment startup and monitor fuel usage for cost efficiency
Capital Projects & Facility Upgrades
- Maintain 3-year capital project plan with cross-functional team input
- Develop accurate project budgets, timelines, and documentation
- Coordinate contractor selection and approvals with Procurement
- Execute projects according to approved plans, budgets, and compliance standards
- Track project costs and maintain accurate budget reporting
- Provide monthly project analysis and management updates
- Authorize CapEx and maintenance requests as required
People Management
- Supervise engineering and maintenance teams, including scheduling and task delegation
- Provide training, maintain performance standards, and support continuous improvement
- Promote efficient operations while ensuring safety compliance and best practices
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
- 7-10 years experience with a minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience
- Proven experience managing engineering and maintenance teams
- Knowledge of the following systems: MS Office suite, AutoCad, MS Projects, and SAP(PM)
