Job summary

nVent is seeking an experienced Engineering leader to head the site Mechanical and Electrical teams, guiding architecture and delivery aligned with our strategic goals. You will drive resource prioritization, collaborate with the Engineered To Order process, and mentor leaders to meet quality and efficiency targets.

You’ll shape training programs, coordinate offshore and contract resources, and push for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 8 years in leadership roles.
  • Experience in ETO operations, process improvement, or program leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site Engineering organization of Mechanical and Electrical teams to meet AOP.
  • Prioritize engineering resources and initiatives with cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate with Engineered To Order processes to balance rigor, velocity and schedule.
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership aligned to long-term product architecture.
  • Lead, coach and mentor leadership to achieve Quality, Delivery and Efficiency targets.
  • Develop and maintain training/on-boarding programs for new hires.
  • Coordinate offshore/contract resources to ensure scalable capacity and consistent quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement and ensure high-quality results.
  • Implement standard design practices with clear communication and direction.

What You Will Experience In This Position

In this position, you will get to:

  • Leading the site Engineering organization of Mechanical and Electrical teams to achieve and exceed Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
  • Leading and prioritizing engineering resources and initiatives in collaboration with other site functions to meet customer and business demands.
  • Partnering with multiple functions in the Engineered To Order (ETO) process ensuring engineering rigor, velocity, schedule and flexibility are balanced to meet business results.
  • Providing technical and strategic leadership aligned to long-term product architecture and business goals while balancing short-term business execution
  • Leading, coaching and mentoring leadership within the building framework and power systems functions to achieve Quality, Delivery, and Efficiency targets across the Engineering organization.
  • Developing and maintaining a thorough training and on-boarding program for new hires aligned to defined engineering quality and product standards.
  • Coordinate activities in support of offshore and contract engineering resources enabling scalable capacity and consistent quality standards.
  • Leading and driving a continuous improvement mentality ensuring high‑quality results that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Implementing standard design practices while providing clear communication, work direction, coaching, and development support to build capability and accountability across the team.
You Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering-related area; Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Architectural, or comparable experience.
  • 10+ years of proven ability with 8+ years of leadership experience of technical teams
  • Experience in ETO engineering operations, process improvement, or technical program leadership.
  • Solid understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes pertaining to control buildings, and engineering documentation practices.
  • Sheet metal experience preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Solidworks
  • Strong interpersonal and planning skills coupled with an agile mentality
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
  • Proven track record to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
