Qualifications

• Fluent English language skills required.
• 3–5 years' hotel/HVAC systems experience.
• HVAC certification or journeyman level preferred.
• 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Solid knowledge of electrical, mechanical and life safety systems.
• Proficient computer and administrative skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
• Must meet jurisdiction age requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering outside engineering vendor contracts.
• Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
• Monitor and control parts and labor expenditures.
• Select, train, supervise, develop, discipline, and counsel employees according to Davidson policies and procedures.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding all aspects of engineering operations.
• Demonstrate leadership to inspire employees to meet and exceed standards.
• Direct and maintain record keeping systems.
• Ensure life systems are operational and compliant.
• Fulfill risk control duties as assigned.
• Implement safety, EPA, HazCom procedures in department.
• Inspect and document plant, equipment, hazards, systems, and operations.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and documentation.
• Promote employee empowerment.
• Report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Respond to all life system alarms.
• Prioritize work requests balancing guest and staff issues.
• Cross-train and perform other duties as needed.
• Order and receive all supplies and manage purchasing.
• Perform in capacity of any supervised position.
• Assist in conducting performance appraisals.
• Attend mandatory meetings.

Overview

An Engineering Manager maintains high morale for engineering; teaches engineering staff how to maintain and repair equipment; solicits suggestions or input from other members of the engineering team; coaches or counsels team members effectively; staff consistently achieves standards for the department; discusses problems with employees as they come up; understands the hotel’s human resources policies and procedures; treats all employees fairly; uses appropriate staffing levels for work demand; promotes hotel service standards and policies while maintaining compliance and hosting safety training courses for the property monthly.

Qualifications

• Read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
• Hotel, institutional, HVAC systems experience of 3-5 years.
• Refrigeration, HVAC certification or journeyman level experience.
• Previous management or supervisory experience of 2-3 years.
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, life safety systems, preventative maintenance systems and all related engineering disciplines.
• Basic computer skills, administrative skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with public and other employees.
• No employee will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of self or others.
• Meet minimum age requirement of jurisdiction.
