Job summary

ACDi in Frederick, MD is seeking an Engineering Manager to drive operational efficiency in electronics assembly and test environments, lead manufacturing and test engineers, and ensure IPC, ISO, and customer standards compliance.

You will partner with the Operations Manager, oversee new product introduction, and act as the technical liaison to customers and suppliers while guiding continuous improvement and career development.

Qualifications

• B.S. in an engineering or technical discipline preferred.
• Minimum 10 yrs. experience in low-to-medium volume manufacturing with at least 5 years managing manufacturing engineers.
• Strong knowledge of EMS, Test Services, PCB design, and layout services.
• Excellent computer skills with ERP / MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lead change and develop teams; strong collaboration with Operations and Quality.

• Lead major continuous improvement initiatives in electronics assembly and test environment.
• Hire, manage, direct, and develop manufacturing and test engineers and the Engineering Production Services team.
• Coordinate engineering for IPC, ISO, and customer standards compliance.
• Serve as technical contact for customers, OEMs, vendors, and suppliers; drive NPI and post-delivery lessons learned.
• Develop processes around front-end engineering, NPI processing, and design reviews.
• Drive manufacturing engineering strategies to meet customer requirements and capabilities.

This role involves leading major improvement initiatives, managing and developing manufacturing and test engineers, and ensuring the site is equipped to support all manufacturing activities. Collaborating closely with the Operations Manager, the Engineering Manager will oversee process development in compliance with IPC, ISO, and customer standards, while serving as the technical liaison for customers and suppliers. Key responsibilities include coordinating engineering and support personnel, addressing manufacturing challenges, and fostering a culture of feedback and career development. The Engineering Manager will also contribute to new product introduction processes and participate in contract and design reviews.
