Engineering Lead - Software Defined Radio & RF Systems

Shape the Future of Wireless Communications

At Analog Devices (ADI), we're building the technologies that power the world's most advanced communications, aerospace, defense, industrial, and connectivity applications. We're seeking an experienced Senior Product Engineer to lead the development, validation, and production release of next-generation Software Defined Radio (SDR) and mixed-signal solutions.

This is a high-impact technical leadership role where you'll work at the intersection of RF, mixed-signal design, embedded software, and system architecture. You'll guide products from early silicon development through full production release while mentoring engineers and influencing technical strategy across cross-functional teams.

If you're passionate about solving complex technical challenges, leading multidisciplinary teams, and bringing innovative wireless products to market, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

Lead Advanced SDR Product Development

  • Own product evaluation, characterization, and validation activities for cutting-edge SDR and transceiver platforms.

  • Drive products from initial silicon bring-up through manufacturing release and customer deployment.

  • Serve as a technical leader for RF, mixed-signal, and embedded software verification initiatives.

Technical Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence

  • Partner closely with IC design, software, applications, test engineering, systems, and marketing teams to define and execute product strategies.

  • Act as the technical focal point for complex product issues, customer escalations, and performance optimization efforts.

  • Mentor and develop junior engineers while fostering best practices across engineering teams.

  • Influence future platform architectures, validation methodologies, and automation strategies.

Solve Challenging Wireless Engineering Problems

  • Debug and analyze complex RF and mixed-signal systems across a variety of operating conditions.

  • Perform advanced RF measurements including EVM, noise figure, phase noise, linearity, spurious analysis, and S-parameter characterization.

  • Validate digital signal processing (DSP), embedded software, analog, and digital functionality within highly integrated radio platforms.

  • Present technical findings and recommendations to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Drive Automation & Operational Excellence

  • Develop automated validation and characterization solutions using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, C/C++, or similar tools.

  • Improve test efficiency, measurement accuracy, and product quality through innovative automation techniques.

  • Help define laboratory strategies, equipment investments, and next-generation validation frameworks.

What We're Looking For.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 7+ years of experience developing, validating, or bringing complex wireless communication systems to market.

  • Demonstrated success leading technical programs, projects, or engineering teams within RF, wireless, or mixed-signal environments.

  • Strong expertise in Software Defined Radio, RF systems, transceivers, ADCs, DACs, and mixed-signal architectures.

  • Hands‑on experience with RF test and measurement equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.

  • Deep understanding of RF performance metrics including EVM, noise figure, phase noise, spurious performance, linearity, and S-parameters.

  • Experience working across hardware, software, and systems engineering disciplines.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading engineers, projects, or technical workstreams within a product development environment.

  • Experience with embedded software verification and ARM-based systems.

  • Background in cellular, satellite communications, aerospace/defense, broadband, wireless infrastructure, or communications systems.

  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, C/C++, or C#.

  • Experience collaborating with firmware and DSP teams to define and validate advanced signal processing algorithms.

Why Join ADI?

At ADI, you'll have the opportunity to work on breakthrough technologies that connect the physical and digital worlds. You'll collaborate with world‑class engineers, influence products used across global communications markets, and play a key role in shaping the future of wireless connectivity.

In this role, you'll enjoy:

  • Significant technical ownership and visibility.

  • Opportunities to lead and mentor engineering teams.

  • Exposure to cutting‑edge RF and Software Defined Radio technologies.
