Mission of the Role
As Engineering Lead for Security Operations, you will drive the growth and effectiveness of a high‑performance security engineering team. Responsibilities include hiring, mentoring, developing processes, refining the security roadmap, and driving operational excellence in vulnerability management and incident response.
Core Competencies
- 8+ years of technical experience, including full‑time security or software engineering, with at least 3 years as a formal people manager
- Experience leading distributed teams across time zones
- Deep understanding of vulnerability management, incident response, security monitoring, and secure coding
- Player‑coach skillset: technical guidance while managing people and processes
- Enjoy learning, deep diving into uncertainty, and explaining the "why" and "how"
Technical Skills
- Extensive knowledge across security domains; deep expertise in at least one area (vulnerability management, incident response, security monitoring, application security)
- Ability to apply analytical skills to solve complex security problems and influence solutions across teams
- Contribute to department strategies, frameworks, systems, and processes aligned with organizational priorities

Qualifications
- Experience managing, mentoring, and growing a geographically distributed security engineering team
- Real‑world experience building and maintaining security infrastructure, monitoring systems, and automation tools
- Deep understanding of security fundamentals (vulnerability management, incident response, monitoring, secure coding, cloud, network)
- Scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash
- Experience with SIEM tools, security scanning, and monitoring platforms
- Commitment to code quality, test infrastructure, and security best practices
- Prioritizes risk management, compliance, and business value in decision making
- Strong computer science fundamentals (concurrency, algorithms, data structures)

- Experience with applied cryptography
