Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Boston, MA is seeking an exceptional Software Development Manager to lead a team building high-performance features for AWS FSx for Lustre, serving GPU/AI workloads and other demanding workloads.

You will hire, mentor, and guide engineers, working with product managers and senior leaders to shape the technical roadmap and strategy at scale. As a manager, you’ll drive delivery, operational excellence, and cross-team collaboration across AWS.

Qualifications

• 3 years of engineering team management experience
• 7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers in delivery and operational excellence of an AWS service
• Hire, mentor, and promote engineers
• Work with teams across AWS to build new solutions
• Build mechanisms to drive the highest standards within your team
• Work with product managers, principal engineers, and senior leadership to define the technical roadmap and strategy for FSx
