Job summary

Neuralink is seeking an Engineering Lab Manager to empower our engineering and manufacturing teams to innovate and deliver groundbreaking medical devices. You will design and optimize lab spaces, manage inventory, and build prototypes while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will collaborate with design and manufacturing stakeholders, implement new technologies, and streamline operations to support the company’s growth and rapid product development.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the design and optimization of spaces to meet evolving lab needs.
  • Continuously improve lab capabilities and operations by adopting new technologies and optimizing workflows.
  • Maintain and manage inventory of lab equipment, tools, chemicals, and consumables.
  • Implement maintenance strategies and ensure lab organization, cleanliness, and safe operation; train users accordingly.
  • Build prototypes, run tests, and provide hands-on support to engineers with prototyping and lab operations.

About Neuralink:

We are creating devices that enable a bi-directional interface with the brain. These devices allow us to restore movement to the paralyzed, restore sight to the blind, and revolutionize how humans interact with their digital world.

Team Description:

The Brain Interfaces Team is responsible for the design, manufacturing, and testing of all systems related to the implant and charger. Our projects involve electrical and mechanical test systems, custom jigs and fixtures used in manufacturing and assembly, electronics packaging, and tooling at the interface between the implant and the surgical robot.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

As an Engineering Lab Manager, you will be instrumental in creating and maintaining an environment that empowers our engineering and manufacturing teams to innovate and deliver groundbreaking medical devices. You will go beyond managing equipment and facilities; you will be a key enabler of technical and operational success, ensuring that the lab spaces are designed for efficiency and collaboration. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s growth by facilitating innovation, streamlining operations, and optimizing resource utilization. Additionally, you will be expected to:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the design and optimization of spaces to meet the evolving needs of the engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Continuously improve lab capabilities and operations by implementing new technologies, optimizing space for better workflow, or renovating existing facilities
  • Maintain and manage inventory of all lab equipment, including tools, chemicals, and consumables
  • Proactively implement maintenance strategies and deliver systems for lab organization and cleanliness as well as train users accordingly
  • Build prototypes, run tests and experiments, and provide hands-on technical support to engineers, leveraging expertise in engineering, prototyping, and lab operations
  • Ensure spaces comply with safety regulations and industry standards

Expected Compensation:

The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also believe in aligning our employees’ success with the company’s long-term growth. As such, in addition to base salary, Neuralink offers equity compensation (in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSU)) for all full-time employees.

Base Salary Range: $68,000-$114,000 USD
