Job summary

Nammo Perry in Florida offers an Engineering Intern position focused on manufacturing, quality, and solid rocket motor engineering. You will develop, implement, and improve processes to drive program objectives while applying lean manufacturing techniques to investigate defects and support continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and engineers to refine procedures, analyze data, and generate reports on improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Engineering degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials or similar.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Work with manufacturing to develop and refine procedures and tests.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Assist with process breakdowns and defect resolutions to reduce downtime.
• Analyze manufacturing data to predict trends or identify issues.
• Generate reports for completed improvement projects.

Nammo Perry is a center of excellence for the design, development and production of munitions and pyrotechnic products for the U.S. Department of Defense. Nammo employees working at the Florida site manufacture all types of 40mm low and high velocity ammunition; pyrotechnic marking; signaling and tactical illumination devices; battlefield effects training simulators; demolition charges; hand grenade fuzes; and other ammunition components. Additionally, they provide load, assemble, and pack (LAP) services for large caliber direct-fire ammunition.

As an Engineering Intern, you will work with Manufacturing, Quality, and/or our Solid Rocket Motor Engineers to develop, implement, and improve processes that help drive program objectives. The Engineering interns may also work with the manufacturing teams to apply lean manufacturing techniques to investigate defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement.

What Dedicated Interns Bring

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials) or similar
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or project management tools

Our Working Conditions And Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing

• Must be able to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to endure sunshine and weather extremes
• Must be able to endure fumes that are within OSHA accepted standards

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (<85 dBA), however in some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary
