Job summary

NapaSan is offering an Engineering Internship (paid) at our Napa, CA site. This part-time, in-person program gives students hands-on exposure to daily engineering tasks across planning, design, and field activities.

Interns will work with licensed engineers, use GIS and AutoCAD, and participate in plan reading and site visits to understand wastewater infrastructure from concept to operation.

Qualifications

• College student pursuing an engineering major or related coursework.
• In-person internship; no remote option.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and learn new tools quickly.

Responsibilities

• Work on real engineering projects alongside licensed professional engineers.
• Gain hands-on experience with GIS and AutoCAD software.
• Read plans, maps, and standard specifications.
• Collaborate with peers to build workplace relationships.
• Visit wastewater treatment facilities and construction sites.

About Us

NapaSan provides wastewater collection and treatment services to the residents and businesses in the City of Napa and surrounding vicinity. NapaSan strives to recover resources from the wastewater stream by producing recycled water, beneficially reusing biosolids, and creating green energy on-site to power the wastewater treatment process.

At NapaSan, engineers are involved in projects from initial conception through evaluation of alternatives, design, procurement, construction, and operation. NapaSan is a medium-size agency, and engineers are involved in a wide-range of projects and solutions requiring creativity and innovation. NapaSan’s engineers truly make a positive impact on the agency, community, and the wastewater industry.

Compensation and Duration

$25/hour. Part-time, 20 hours per week.
