Job summary

Globus Medical, a leader in musculoskeletal solutions, seeks an Engineering Intern to support manufacturing operations. You will help map CNC processes to MES, assist with MES testing, and develop production instructions while collaborating with Quality, IT, and Supply Chain teams.

The role focuses on safety, cost reduction, quality improvement, and downtime minimization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment at our site in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in school with at least 60 credit hours toward Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Ability to provide college transcripts and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member.
  • Candidates are responsible for their own housing and transportation during the internship.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross‑functional teams to map CNC machining and finishing activities to the MES.
  • Provide testing support for MES software implementation.
  • Develop and maintain production work instructions.
  • Provide engineering support for quality assurance activities as needed.
  • Support equipment installation, qualification documentation, and facilities upgrades.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, IT, Supply Chain, and Finance teams.
  • Identify process improvements with Operations; apply lean principles and value‑stream mapping.
  • Assist with PMs, SMED/changeover optimization, machine scheduling, and visual management.

Position Summary:

As an Engineering Intern, you will support operations across the manufacturing site by collaborating with cross‑functional teams to optimize processes and drive improvement initiatives. Your work will focus on enhancing safety, reducing costs, improving quality, increasing efficiency, and minimizing downtime. This internship offers a fast‑paced learning environment with exposure to a wide range of manufacturing processes, supplier development, and real‑world engineering challenges. You will gain valuable hands‑on experience and insights into career paths within NML Medical and Globus Medical.

Essential Functions:
  • Work closely with others to support physical production process reviews, mapping, and translation of CNC machining and finishing activities into the manufacturing execution system
  • Provide testing support for manufacturing execution system software implementation
  • Support the development and maintenance of production work instructions
  • Provide engineering support and assistance for quality assurance activities as needed
  • Support equipment installation, equipment and process qualifications/documentation, and facilities modifications/upgrades as needed
  • Interact cross‑functionally with various other internal teams within Operations, Quality, IT, Supply Chain, and Finance
  • Assist Operations Team in identifying process improvement opportunities
  • Miscellaneous technical generation and analysis
  • Drive cycle time improvements through value stream mapping and lean principles related to Machine
  • Processing: SMED/Change over Optimization
  • Capacity/dedicated machining centers
  • PQPR Analysis
  • Machine Scheduling/Visual Management

Qualifications :
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • In pursuit of Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Must be currently enrolled in school with a successful completion of 2 years of undergraduate studies (minimum of 60 credit hours towards Bachelor's degree)
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to provide college transcripts as well as a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • Candidates are responsible for their own housing and transportation during the internship
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
