Job summary

BARNHART invites applications for an Engineering Intern to support the Barnhart Engineering team in developing heavy-lift and heavy-transport solutions. This paid internship offers hands-on experience with AutoCAD/Inventor modeling, equipment layout drawings, basic steel design, and process improvements, with exposure to both office work and local field support.

You will collaborate with engineers, managers, and field teams while pursuing an ABET-accredited BS in Engineering.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline from ABET accredited institution.
• Prefer experience in construction industry.
• AutoCAD and solid modeling experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering team in creating heavy-lift/heavy-transport solutions.
• Support with AutoCAD/Inventor modeling and equipment layout drawings.
• Assist with basic steel design and calculations.
• Contribute to process improvements and proposal materials (e.g., charts, Excel templates).
• Maintain regular communication with Manager and team; provide local field support.
• Work safely in a fast-paced environment.
