Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Engineering Intern in Valencia, CA to perform routine engineering tasks on the manufacturing floor. You will assist with MRB activities, process analysis, and documentation creation, gaining hands-on experience toward a full-time career.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering and production teams, on-site work from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and exposure to typical shop conditions. This contract-to-hire role offers growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Approximately 1 year of manufacturing-related experience or engineering education.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.
• Knowledge of inspection techniques and ability to review inspection reports.
• Ability to use micrometers and calipers.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Foundational engineering knowledge in mechanical/manufacturing disciplines.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Proficiency with computers and data review, plus MS Office.
• Strong shop math skills; ability to record data clearly.
• Effective written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.
• High attention to detail and organized documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create clear work and rework instructions for manufacturing.
• Perform ERP transactions to document and track production activities.
• Maintain and update engineering documentation and redline work orders.
• Support MRB by verifying quality rejections with problem-solving tools.
• Gather rejection data and perform containment for nonconformances.
• Assist with minor rework and touch-ups as directed.
• Contribute to engineering projects and process improvements.
• Collect data on manufacturing processes to support analysis.
