Job summary

Stantec is seeking engineering student interns to join our Energy team in Irvine or Pasadena, California, working on hydropower and dam projects. This hands-on role provides exposure to design and construction activities under supervision of experienced practitioners.

You will gain practical CAD/engineering experience, collaborate with clients and communities, and contribute to feasibility studies while earning a competitive wage. A strong academic track in engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited Engineering program.
• Two years of college education remaining; within approx two years of graduation.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for design and ongoing construction projects, coordination with CAD designers.
• Review construction submittals, perform design calculations and report preparation.
• Conduct product research and outreach, assist with site visits and various project tasks.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for a variety of design and ongoing construction projects, coordination with other engineering disciplines and CAD designers.
• Responsibilities will include review of construction submittals, design calculations and report preparation, product research and outreach, occasional site visits, and various project-related tasks.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Excellent analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Self-motivated
• Basic understanding of CAD drafting software (i.e., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Inventor, and/or Revit), and MS Office software

Education and Experience

• Enrollment in an accredited Engineering program
• At least two years of college education and are within approximately two years of graduation
• At least a 3.0 GPA is preferred

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
