Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking motivated Engineering Interns to join our team for Summer 2027 in Seattle, WA (Kirkland). This internship offers hands-on experience supporting civil water resources projects, including fish screening and passage, hatcheries, and river water supply.

You will assist engineers with design, analysis, drawings, fieldwork, data collection, and reporting, using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and office tools; mentorship is provided in a collaborative, professional environment.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Strong academic background relevant to civil water resources engineering.

Engineering Intern - Civil Water Resources

McMillen, Inc. is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Interns to join our team for Summer 2027. This internship offers valuable hands‑on experience supporting real‑world projects in civil engineering. This internship will focus on water resources projects including fish screening and passage, fish hatcheries, river water supply, and related efforts. Interns will collaborate with experienced engineers and project teams, gaining both technical expertise and professional development in a supportive, team‑oriented environment.

Available Opportunities:
  • Civil Engineering - Seattle, WA (Kirkland)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist engineers with design, analysis, and technical calculations for ongoing projects.
  • Support preparation of drawings, models, and specifications using engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or discipline‑specific tools).
  • Participate in fieldwork, site visits, inspections, and testing as needed.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze project data and prepare technical reports or documentation.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
  • Provide general project support, including research, documentation, and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Strong academic background with coursework relevant to the internship focus area.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to engineering software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative on assigned tasks.

Pay Range:

$25-28 per hour (DOE)
