Job summary

SRK Consulting (US), Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern (Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental) to support the engineering team on a variety of projects in the mining and metals sector.

Responsibilities include assisting with engineering calculations, earthworks design, field work or site visits, and review of technical reports. Applicants should be pursuing or recently completed a degree in civil/geotechnical engineering with software proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel and Word.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in civil or geotechnical engineering or a recent graduate.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel and Word.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities and ability to work in a team environment.
• Interest in learning about the mining consulting industry.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Engineering Intern (Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental).

Description of Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities will include supporting the engineering team on special projects such as engineering calculations, design work for earthworks projects, field work or site visits and review of technical reports.

Required:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor`s or master`s degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or recent college graduate;
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel and Word;
• Effective communication and leadership qualities and ability to work in a team environment; and
• Desire to learn about and gain a strong understanding of the mining consulting industry.

Preferred:

• An understanding of mine waste management through previous internships or coursework;
• Knowledge of land surveying principles and practices; and
• Knowledge of geotechnical investigations and instrumentation.
