Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation’s Bridge Division in Austin, TX is seeking Engineering Interns to assist in transportation engineering support, including construction inspection, data collection, and drafting. You will gain exposure to bridge design, asset management, and project documentation while enrolled in an approved engineering or related science program.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an engineering or related science degree program in an accredited college or university accepted by TX PELS.
• Enrollment in an accredited program related to engineering or sciences is required.

Responsibilities

• Develops spreadsheets, databases, and other electronic documents.
• Gathers basic data and assists with routine statistical analysis.
• Performs data entry and computer-aided analysis.
• Prepares worksheets and inspection reports.
• Processes construction-related documents and maintains project records.
• Uses drafting equipment and performs hand or computer-aided drafting and calculating work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
