Engineering Intern (Part-Time, Temporary) Location: Springfield, OH Department: Engineering Reports To: Plant Engineer and Maintenance Manager Status: Part-Time, Temporary Internship

Position Summary

The Engineering Intern will support the Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams in identifying and implementing process improvements within a manufacturing environment. This position provides hands‑on experience with manufacturing processes, equipment, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational problem‑solving. The intern will assist with engineering projects, data collection and analysis, documentation, and process optimization efforts while gaining practical experience in a production setting.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements related to safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
  • Collect, analyze, and report production and process performance data.
  • Support engineers with process audits, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process controls.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and cost‑reduction projects.
  • Conduct workflow observations to identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts by gathering information and assisting with problem‑solving activities.
  • Assist with equipment evaluations, process trials, and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain personnel on assigned projects.
  • Maintain organized project records, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Observe and follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform other engineering‑related duties and special projects as assigned.
