Job summary

STAQ Pharma Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern in Columbus, OH. The role involves supporting maintenance and cGMP system tasks, collaborating with experienced engineers, and taking ownership of select projects.

You will engage in validation activities, process improvements, and documentation, while developing practical engineering knowledge and cross-functional leadership skills in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in Chemical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering program.
  • Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate level.
  • Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Current HR and/or compensation credentials or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers in applying principles, methods, and techniques of engineering.
  • Lead assigned projects and manage a schedule and daily progress tracking.
  • Execute validation activities on critical manufacturing equipment and utilities.
  • Investigate and execute manufacturing process improvement projects.
  • Create/update asset management documents for preventive maintenance and calibration requirements.
  • Write process, utilities, and validation procedures, evaluate test results, and write reports within the quality system.
  • Drive practical knowledge of science and technology into manufacturing for improved plant performance.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve improvement objectives and monitor daily operations.
  • Collaborate with production operators, maintenance technicians and vendors to solve technical problems.

Job Summary:


The Engineering Intern is responsible for various maintenance and cGMP system tasks. Will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to various aspects of engineering projects. Should have the willingness to take on special projects and be naturally inclined to take ownership of tasks.


Responsibilities:



  • Assist engineers in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of engineering.

  • Serve as leader of assigned projects and manage a schedule and tracking daily progress

  • Execute Validation activities on critical manufacturing equipment and utilities.

  • Investigating and executing manufacturing process improvement projects

  • Create and update asset management documents related to preventative maintenance and calibration requirements.

  • Writing process, utilities, and validation procedures, evaluating test results, writing reports, and processing action to be taken with in the quality system.

  • Driving practical knowledge of science and technology into all levels of the manufacturing organization for improved plant performance

  • Lead cross functional teams to achieve improvement objectives, and monitor daily operations to find improvement opportunities

  • Work with production operators, maintenance technicians and vendors staff on solving technical problems


Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Must be a team player and effectively collaborate with internal departments.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing industry.

  • Demonstrates ability to handle multiple responsibilities at any given time.


Education and Experience:



  • Current enrollment in an accredited Chemical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering program. Other related Majors may be considered.

  • Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate level.

  • Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills.

  • Microsoft word and excel experience.

  • AutoCAD Microsoft excel experience preferred. Current human resources and/or compensation credentials or certification preferred.


Physical Requirements:


Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
