Job summary

Marquette University seeks an Engineering Grant Development Manager to advance externally funded research in the College of Engineering. You will partner with faculty to identify funding opportunities, develop proposal plans, and prepare competitive proposals for federal, foundation, and industry sponsors.

The role involves grantsmanship consultation, editing, and coordinating complex submissions, budgets, and administrative requirements in collaboration with ORSP and the Dean’s Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• 4-5 years related experience in research proposals, budgeting, or grants.
• Excellent written communication and editing skills are essential.
• Ability to coordinate multiple investigators and institutions to meet sponsor deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Partner with faculty investigators to develop competitive research proposals.
• Coordinate large, multi‑investigator and multi‑institution proposals.
• Prepare budget worksheets and assist with cost-sharing and institutional commitments.
• Maintain knowledge of sponsor requirements and pre‑award practices.
• Support faculty research planning and salary recovery efforts.
